7-ая Международная конференция «Гимназическая Модель ООН»

С 19 по 22 апреля учащиеся 9-11-ых классов под руководством учителей английского языка Кунец Надежды Алексеевны и Рыбак Елены Леонидовны приняли участие в 7-ой Международной конференции «Гимназическая Модель ООН».
Участниками конференции были представители гимназий и школ Минска, Бреста, Борисова, Слуцка, студенты ведущих высших заведений города Минска, гости из Казахстана, России, Польши (около 300 участников). Организаторами конференции являлись Республиканское общественное объединение «Белорусская Ассоциация клубов ЮНЕСКО», Ассоциированная школа ЮНЕСКО ГУО «Гимназия №12 г. Минска» и клуб ЮНЕСКО «Гольфстрим».
Слоган конференции "Capture the dream" – «Поймай мечту!». На протяжении 4-ёх дней юные дипломаты моделировали работу 8 комитетов ООН. Тематика конференции была посвящена 17 Целям Устойчивого Развития. Представительство ООН В Беларуси предоставило выставку картин, посвященных ЦУР, а участники конференции провели флэшмоб "Stand up for SDGs", с помощью которого они выразили свою солидарность с Целями Устойчивого Развития.
Делегаты гимназии представляли интересы Канады, участвовали в переговорах и обсуждении проблем, которые стоят на повестке работы комитета, предлагали пути решения и, в результате, принимали совместную резолюцию. Рабочим языком конференции являлся английский, гимназисты имели возможность совершенствовать навыки владения английским языком, умения дипломатично вести дебаты и найти новых друзей.
Участники конференции получили колоссальный опыт и много положительных эмоций. Вотчтоговоритоднаизучастницконференции:
“Have you ever dreamt of becoming an international agent? Are you creative, open-minded and communicative? Do you care about the future of our planet?
Are you ready to make something new and share your ideas with others? If yes, than Gymnasium Model United Nations is definitely for you. GYMUN is a scientific conference and a game at the same time, during which participants are supposed to think of the most serious problems concerning planet Earth and the whole humankind. Each student is a part of one of the committees dedicated to the topics from the agenda of GYMUN. During sessions we discuss, debate, present our ways how to resolve the problem, vote and finally create the resolutions.
When I first got to this conference, I was a little bit confused and shocked by the scale of the event as there were so many people, photographers, representatives of different widely known organizations, guests from foreign countries and so on. However, I adapted relatively fast and on the second day I was fully involved in the work of my committee.
Of course, events like this give you completely new experience, new emotions, you try a new role, the role of a delegate, you meet new people and become friends with them immediately, you get a lot of useful skills and, of course, it’s a great chance to develop your knowledge of English, because any other languages are forbidden during the conference. In fact, during GYMUN you seem to fall out of the reality for four days, and except this conference nothing exists for you, since it is absolutely different world with its own rules and atmosphere.
I participated twice, and the second time was no less fascinating and knowledgeable, moreover, it was even more exciting and unforgettable.
Unfortunately, I don’t know whether I will have this wonderful opportunity to take part in this conference in the future, but if I have, I will use it without any doubt”.
